All I See Is You was set as director Marc Forster’s follow up feature to the troubled production, but box office success World War Z.
The budget for All I See Is You was $30 million and SC International Pictures financed the picture.
Sierra Affinity boarded the project to sell off international rights and All I See Is You was brought to the 2015 Cannes Film Festival for pre-sales. Sales were strong, which would limit SC Intl’s exposure to the budget, though domestic distribution was not set.
The movie premiered at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival in September and was met with mostly poor reviews. One month after the festival, Open Road acquired domestic rights and set a wide release for August 4, 2017. The movie was eventually shifted to September 15 and Open Road did not even release a trailer, poster or any marketing materials until September 18. All I See Is You was then moved to October 27. Open Road dumped the picture with barely any signs of marketing and booked it into only 283 locations. This penny pinching release mustered up just $144,076 for the weekend with a miserable $509 per screen average. Going into its second frame, it was pulled out of all but 53 theaters and cumed a mere $5,850. All I see Is You was yanked from release after only two weeks with $217,644.
Overseas distributors didn’t to do much with this property after it was tossed away stateside. The only markets that have reported theatrical receipts were Italy, Russia, Greece, Portugal, Lithuania and United Arab Emirates with a grand total of $460,506. It was dumped online in the UK.
