The gross budget for Parker was $43,711,091 and the net exposure after rebates was $35.6 million.  It was co-financed by Sierra/Affinity, Incentive Filmed Entertainment and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment.   Sierra/Affinity handled worldwide pre-sales and took the project to Cannes in 2011, where the company had the two hottest properties — Parker and Ender’s Game.  Both titles sold out in almost every market and the pre-sales covered much of the budget for Parker, which was envisioned as the start of a new franchise.  The short lived FilmDistrict acquired domestic rights and set a release date for October 12, 2012 and then shifted it to January 25, 2013.

Parker bowed against Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters and the miserable low-budgeted Movie 43 and was tracking soft in the single digits.  Reviews were mixed to poor.  FilmDistrict booked it into 2,224 locations and it opened within its low expectations at $7,008,222 — placing #5 for the weekend led by Hansel and Gretel.  Parker saw direct competition the following weekend when the Stallone flop Bullet To The Head opened and Parker sank 52.9% to $3,302,415.  The third frame declined 43.5% to $1,867,411 and then it promptly lost most of its theater count.  The domestic run closed with a franchise ending $17,616,641.  Not being one of the major studios, FilmDistrict would not receive the usual 55% of the ticket price the majors command and they would see returned under $9 million after theaters take their percentage of the gross — this would not cover even half of their P&A expenses.  FilmDistrict would soon close their doors and release their final picture at the end of November — the dud Oldboy.

Overseas numbers were about average for your run of the mill Jason Statham vehicle and it pulled in $30.9 million across many distributors.
