Lakeshore Entertainment equally co-financed the $15 million Walk of Shame with Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. The film was sold to US distributor FilmDistrict, which scheduled a wide release for September 20, 2013 but FilmDistrict closed down and was absolved into Focus Features. Focus re-scheduled Walk Of Shame for a March 14, 2014 release and then pushed it back to April 25 and finally buried the pic May 2 in 51 theaters with the bare minimum of advertising and day and date VOD. The Elizabeth Banks vehicle grossed a miserable $39,751 opening weekend with a $779 per screen average and was pulled out of release at the end of its first week with just $59,209. Sierra/Affinity handled worldwide sales for Lakeshore and Kimmel and the film grossed $8 million worldwide across various distributors. Most markets pulled in far less than $1 million and Walk Of Shame posted its highest worldwide gross in Russia with $2 million.
